Book Order
The last book order sent home was due April 12. I have received a few orders. I will be placing that order Tuesday or Wednesday this week. If you would like to place an order there is still time. Also, I will be sending a book order home at the end of April. That will be our last book order of the year.

Absent 3/11 & 3/12
I will be attending a conference in Jeff City all day on Thursday, March 11 and another conference all day in Tan-Tar-A on Friday, March 12. There will be a substitute teacher both days. I will still update the blog and they will still fill in behavior checklists Friday. Thanks!

Baptism artifacts
Thanks for sending in pictures/candles for the children to share about baptisms. They enjoyed sharing and I appreciate you sending them in. We didn't get to a couple of them, so I will return the pictures/candles on Monday. If you didn't get a chance to send anything in, you can still do that on Monday.

Who does this tooth belong to???
I brought in a tooth from a cow that my husband found on our farm. February was dental health month so I thought it would be fun to show the kids. We examined the tooth and came up with some guesses. They really had fun with it. We had guesses of a skunk (yuck!), bear, tiger, lion, leopard, deer, lamb, cow and horse. We discussed why some of the guesses might be a little hard to find in Boonville. :) We also discussed the health of the tooth (icky!) I guess cows don't brush and floss like they should! LOL! It was a lot of fun!
Spanish word of the day
Our Spanish word of the day was La Escuela which means school. We started our cultures unit and we started with Mexico. Taylor brought in some "pesos" that her parents brought home from a trip to Mexico. We will learn some new words tomorrow!

Email Addresses/Blog
Thank you for your response to my note about email addresses and the blog. I will continue to update the blog weekly. I also may update it throughout the week if something comes up. If there is anything that needs immediate attention, I will send out an email.

Our First Mass
Our first Mass was a success! The kids did a wonderful job! I have heard so many compliments from teachers and parishioners on how well they did. I am very proud of all of them. Thank you for all your hard work at home. Also, thank you to all of you who came to Mass to support the class.

100th Day Activities
Our "official" 100th day of school was on Friday, January 29. With all of the Catholic Schools Week activities going on, we had to push our activities back a little. We celebrated today with different activities. We wrote about what we would do with $100. We illustrated a picture of what we think we would look like at 100 years old. We thought of and listed 100 different animals. We also grouped the items that you sent to school in groups of 2,5 and 10 for easy counting to 100. We divided the 100 food items among 15 students and had a little afternoon snack. We really enjoyed our 100th day activities!

School Cancelled
Classes were cancelled Friday, February 5 due to the snowy weather. We were scheduled to have a free-dress code day. The office will notify us of the new free-dress code day when school resumes next week. Hope the kids had fun playing in the snow!
Box For Valentines
If you have not already sent in your box for the Valentine's Day Party, please do so by Tuesday, February 9. Make sure your child's name is on the bottom of the box.
Early Dismissal
Reminder: We have a 2:00pm dismissal on Monday, February 8 for teacher in-service. This is a non-dress code day.
